On Saturday the 4th Oct. 2014 the first "Taubertal 100" was held with 38 participants. All Runners reached the finish-line. A finisher-quote of 100%.

 

100 km-Distance:

The 100 km Distance from Rothenburg to Wertheim was finished by 23 runners. The fastest time was done by Volker Dittmar from Oberasbach (GER) in 8:45:48 h.  The first female was Rebecca Lenger from Mayen (GER) in 10:27:10 h.

 

71 km- Distance:

Five Runners finished the 71 km Distance to Tauberbischofsheim. The first male was Florian Bachmaier from Nürnberg (GER) in 6:34:44 h. The first female was Friederike Müller from Inzing (Austria) in 6.41:31 h.

 

50 km-Distance:

10 Runners finished the 50 km-Distance in Bad Mergentheim. The fastest Runner was Christian Schlehlein from Creglingen (GER) in 4:10:48 h. The best Female was Nicole Benning from Vaihingen (GER) in 4:41:21 h.

 

The youngest Runner was the female winner of the 100 km-race, Rebecca Lenger with 24 years. The oldest runner with 70 years was Hagen Brumlich from Königs Wursterhausen who finished the 100 km in 14:41:52 h.

 

The Taubertal 100 fascinates all the participants at 5:30 a.m. with a torch-run through the historical City of Rothenburg to the Burg-Garden. After a final briefing, the runners run down a small trail to the Taubertal Valley to the start line, lighting the way with their flame torches.

 

The Start was at 6.a.m. with the music from ACDC "Highway to Hell".  

With Headlights the runners started in the night with fog on the Bicycle Path in the direction of Weikersheim. After one hour the sunrise began, so that the hills were basked in sunshine an the ground still covered in fog. At 10 a.m. the sun shone fully and perfect conditions for the Ultra-Runners were given.

 

At distance intervals of 5 km the runners got Checkpoints with drinks and at 10 km intervals with food by a staff of 80 Helpers. 

Three Finish lines at the City-Market Place at 50 km in Bad Mergentheim, 71 km in Tauberbischofsheim and 100 km in Wertheim gave the runners spectators fascinating images.

 

Each Ultra-Runner reached his target distance in 50 km Bad Mergentheim, 71 km Tauberbischofsheim or 100 km in Wertheim. 

 

The Finisher-Celebration was held in Castle of Wertheim with Guggen Music and a Knights Dinner.
